Kwangwoon University's HUSS Global Symbiosis Initiative for Cultivating Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Science Talent (Director: Hyeyoung Lee) successfully hosted a special lecture on “Social Enterprise Startup Consulting” on Wednesday, October 23, at the 80th Anniversary Memorial Hall. The event featured Jinkyu Kang, CEO of WooriGachi Co., Ltd., who delivered an in-depth lecture on the importance of social enterprise startups and strategies for success.

The lecture provided a detailed explanation of the definition, purpose, and certification requirements of social enterprises, along with practical advice on how to achieve sustainable economic outcomes while realizing social value. The detailed explanation of the requirements for designating preliminary social enterprises, the certification process for becoming a social enterprise, and the post-certification management strategies was met with enthusiastic feedback from the attendees. In addition, CEO Kang shared specific strategies for startup success, including selecting marketable business ideas and effectively utilizing government support programs. During the Q&A session, students had the opportunity to address various questions related to starting a social enterprise.

 

This special lecture served as an opportunity for Kwangwoon University students to understand the role and importance of social enterprises while gaining practical information needed for entrepreneurship. The HUSS Global Symbiosis Initiative plans to continue providing related education and support in the future.

 

 

What is the HUSS Global Symbiosis Consortium?

The Humanities Utmost Sharing System (HUSS) is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, aimed at nurturing top talent in the humanities and social sciences through a collaborative and shared system within and beyond universities.

 

 

The Global Symbiosis Consortium, led by Kwangwoon University, was newly selected this year and will receive financial support for the next three years (2024?2026).

 

As the lead university of the HUSS Global Symbiosis Consortium, Kwangwoon University collaborates with Kookmin University, Sunmoon University, Yeungnam University, and Honam University to develop interdisciplinary talent in the fields of human and resource sustainability and global symbiosis. The consortium offers a variety of courses and extracurricular programs to achieve this goal.
