·         College of Veritas et Lux Talents Development Signs Mutual Cooperation Agreement with Save the Children Seoul Regional Office

- Educational cooperation for the promotion of children's rights and the activation of lifelong education programs for local residents expected -

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, College of Veritas et Lux Talents Development

at Kwangwoon University (Dean: Seong-Gil Kim) signed a mutual cooperation agreement (MOU) with the Seoul Regional Office of Save the Children (Director: Seong-Ah Kim).

Save the Children (www.sc.or.kr) is an international children's rights NGO operating in about 120 countries worldwide, transcending religion, nationality, and political ideology to ensure children's rights to survival, protection, development, and participation. As part of its advocacy for children's rights, the organization runs the "Positive Parenting" program to help create a society that listens to and respects the voices of children.

The signing ceremony was attended by Seong-Gil Kim, Dean of College of Veritas et Lux Talents Development, and Mi-ae Huh, team leader from Kwangwoon University, as well as Seong-Ah Kim, director of the Save the Children Seoul Regional Office, along with Hee-Jeong Yoo, center director, and Se-Ra Jang, assistant manager.

Through this agreement, the two institutions will collaborate to promote and realize children's rights and will conduct the "Positive Parenting" program for Kwangwoon University students, faculty, staff, local elementary school parents, and residents over a nine-week period from October to December.

Dean Seong-Gil Kim of College of Veritas et Lux Talents Development expressed his thoughts, stating, "We are pleased to collaborate with Save the Children to contribute to raising awareness of children's rights in Korea. We also expect that by involving local parents and residents in this parenting education program, lifelong education at the university will be further activated, benefiting the local community."
