The Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation (headed by Young-wook Jung) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 14, 2024 (Wednesday) with HolmesAI Co., Ltd. (CEO Dong-seok Lim) for mutual cooperation in the field of AI-based medical services.

 

Through this agreement, Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation and HolmesAI Co., Ltd. will mutually cooperate in the following areas: joint research on AI-based platform technology, shared use of space, equipment, facilities, and information, exchange of research and technical personnel.

 

Young-wook Jung, the head of Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation, said, "Based on our experience in supporting the startup and technology transfer of leading medical device companies, including i-SENSE Co., Ltd., a faculty-founded company, we will collaborate to support HolmesAI Co., Ltd. in developing its AI medical service platform, as well as in prototyping and commercialization."

 

Dong-seok Lim, CEO of HolmesAI Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Seoul Clinical Laboratories Foundation (SCL Group, established in 1983 as the first specialized testing institution in Korea) and a company specializing in medical artificial intelligence, stated, "We are committed to driving impactful industry-academia collaboration in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution by integrating our AI technology development capabilities in the medical services field with expertise owned by Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation in artificial intelligence and big data."

 

Meanwhile, the signing ceremony, held at Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation, was attended by Young-wook Jung, Head of the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation, Professor Chul-soo Park from the School of Computer and Information Engineering, and Professor Young-seok Choi from the Department of Electronic Communication Engineering along with HolmesAI Co., Ltd.’s CEO Dong-seok Lim, COO Jong-seon Lee, and Senior Researcher Hye-i Park.
