On Monday, August 12,
2024, Kwangwoon Foundation (Chairman Sun-young Jo) signed an agreement for
educational and research collaboration with the Korea Education & Research
Information Service (President Je-young Jeong, hereafter KERIS) at the KERIS
main conference room on the 3rd floor.
The signing ceremony
was attended by Kwangwoon Foundation Chairman Sun-young Jo, Kwangwoon
University President Jangho Chun, Vice President for External Affairs Sang-won
Min, Director of the Office of Planning Seok-jae Jung, Kwangwoon Artificial
Intelligence High School Principal Do-bong Kim, Curriculum Research Director of
Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School Nam-kyung Lee, Kwangwoon Middle
School Principal Tae-ik Lee, Academic Planning Department Director of Kwangwoon
Middle School Soo-guk Lee, Namdaemun Middle School Vice Principal Myeong-seok
Song, Academic Planning Department Director of Namdaemun Middle School Soon-cheol
Choi, Kwangwoon Elementary School Vice Principal Sung-hee Han, Academic
Planning Department Director of Kwangwoon Elementary School Kyung-ran Ryu. From
KERIS, President Je-young Jeong, Director of Digital Education Kwang-hoon Jung,
Director of AI Digital Textbooks Si-jun Jang, Director of University Academic
Affairs Geum-yeon Jang, Director of the Education Data Center Sang-hyun Jang,
Director of Teaching and Learning Support Sung-hee Baek, Director of Academic
Promotion Ji-young Kwon, and Director of Higher Education Innovation Audit
Kam-sa Jung also attended and graced the occasion.
Kwangwoon Academy and
KERIS plan to collaborate on the joint planning and operation of an educational
platform for primary and middle schools, support for remote education at the
high school level, and the promotion of shared use of academic information
resources, as part of their efforts to nurture creative global talent.
In the future, the two
institutions will collaborate on ▲ building a learning
data collection and utilization system integrated with AI digital textbooks ▲ co-designing a learner-customized digital teaching
and learning platform while expanding educational information services ▲ co-developing educational programs to strengthen
foundational knowledge and sharing best practices ▲ jointly utilizing human and material resources to
promote distance education ▲ supporting the establishment
of library development plan and creating a collaborative system for shared use
of academic information resources.
Kwangwoon Foundation
Chairman Sun-young Jo stated, "As a leading private educational
institution in Korea, encompassing all levels from elementary school and
seconday schools to university, Kwangwoon Foundation is committed to breaking
away from traditional education models and leading the future of innovative

fostering future leaders through collaboration with KERIS, exchanging

Kwangwoon University
President Jangho Chun stated, "In this era of digital transformation,
mutual cooperation with KERIS, a leader in the future of digital education,
will create a synergistic effect for both institutions. We will work together,
leveraging each organization's strengths, to jointly lead the future of
education in Korea."
Do-bong Kim, Principal
of Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School, stated, "In the digital
age, students must become active learners, not passive recipients of knowledge.
Through this agreement, we will work together to address the critical task of nurturing
AI talent and strive to implement student-centered digital education innovation
in the field.
