The research team, consisting
of students Soo-hyun Kim and Sang-won Kwon, supervised by Professor Jae-Han
Lim, received the Best Paper Award at the KICS Summer Conference held at the
Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel from June 19 to 22, 2024. The award-winning paper was
the result of research conducted by Soo-hyun Kim (who graduated from the School
of Electronic Engineering in 2024) and Sang-won Kwon (a third-year student in
the School of Software) during their time as undergraduate researchers in
Professor Lim's team.
The research focuses
on optimizing communication links between vehicles, specifically on selecting
the optimal transmission method at the transmitter during Link Adaptation using
Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. Previous V2X research primarily enhanced
accuracy using AI for channel prediction at the receiver end but did not
consider transmission methods at the transmitter end. This study proposes a
mechanism that predicts the channel environment during Link Adaptation at the
transmitter using LSTM and adopts the optimal transmission method based on the
transmission timing.
