Research team of Professor Tae-jun Ha (Electronic Materials),
Selected for Outstanding Poster at
the 2024 Spring Conference of the Korean Sensors Society
- Recognized for excellence in the
applicability of oxide-TFT as a visible-light photodetector -
The research
team of Professor Tae-jun Ha of the Department of Electronic Materials
Engineering (Advisor: Tae-jun Ha, integrated masters
with PhD students Eun-ha Kim and Sang-jun Park) was selected as the
outstanding poster at the 2024 Spring Conference of the Korean Sensors Society
held at the Daejeon Convention Center on April 29-30 for presenting 'Visible-light
photodetectors based on solution-processed thin-film transistors consisting of
metal-oxide films doped with metal ions.'
The team
developed an oxide-TFT based photodetector doped with metal ions on IGZO and
confirmed enhanced sensing performance in the visible light spectrum compared
to conventional IGZO. Oxide semiconductors with a wide band-gap generally absorb
in the ultraviolet range, but by controlling the optical properties of IGZO
thin films through metal ion doping, the team studied the mechanism for
absorbing visible light and realized a TFT-based photodetector. They were
recognized for excellence by showing the applicability of oxide-TFTs as
visible-light photodetectors. The conference was attended by about 700 people,
including experts from overseas in the sensor field from the USA, Europe,
Japan, and representative companies and research institutes in domestic sensor
industries, and Professor Tae-jun Ha is serving as the director of
industry-academia collaboration at the society.
The research
team of Professor Tae-jun Ha has published over 100 papers on advanced semiconductor-based
sensors and holds about 30 patents.
