'Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation Held Tea Meeting and Award Ceremony with Top Cited Researchers

Encouraging Excellent Researchers in the Top 1% of Citation -
On April
25th, the Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation invited
distinguished researchers who are in the top 1% of the university’s faculty
members in terms of the number of citations of their papers to receive a commemorative
plaque and hold a tea meeting at the conference hall of the Hwado Building.
The
ceremony was hosted by Young-wook Jeong, Director of the Industry-Academic
Collaboration Foundation. The event included the introduction of awardees, a
welcoming speech by President Jangho Chun, a socializing session, and the
awarding plaques. The 10 recipients are Prof.
Nam-young Kim and Prof. Jae-young Park of the Department of Electronics
Engineering, Prof. Tae-jun Ha of the Department of Electronic Materials
Engineering, Prof. Min Jang and Prof. Koduru of the Department of Environmental
Engineering, Prof. Eun-ha Choi and Prof. Nagendra from the Department of Electrical
and Biological Physics, Prof. Young Jin Sa from the Department of Chemistry,
Prof. Tae-gyun Kim from the Department of Mathematics, and Prof. Dong-hun Chung
from the School of Media and Communication.
This tea
meeting was held for the first time this year for the top ten faculty members
based on citation counts over the last three years for their papers published
in 2021 and will be held regularly once a year in the future.
The
Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation created the
paper citation incentive support system in 2021 to encourage the publication in
SCI or KCI-ranked journals and decided to continue the program given the
visible achievements, such as ranking third in 2022 and second in 2023 in the evaluation
of citations per international journal paper by the JoongAng Ilbo's university evaluation.
President Jangho Chun participated in a commemorative photo session with the honored researchers following the tea meeting in the Hwado Building Conference Hall
