The research
team of Professor Sang-shin Lee (Department of Electronic Engineering) at Kwangwoon
University, in collaboration with Zhejiang Institute of China, the Electronics
and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in Korea, and the Australian
National University, has successfully developed a technology for optical
trapping (polarization multiplexed optical trapping) using polarization
multiplexed metasurfaces at the micron-scale.

This
research was supported by the Ministry of Education's Key Research Institute Support
program for universities in STEM fields and the Ministry of Science and ICT's
support program for Mid-Career Researcher Support Project. In recognition of
its achievements, the research was selected as the cover paper of Nanoscale
(IF=6.7, JCR Rank: 16.6%), the prestigious international academic journal
published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) on November 21st.
