Professor Cheol-hwan Park (Department of Chemical Engineering) Wins the ‘Beyond Cell Academic Award’ from the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering 

Professor Cheol-hwan Park (Department of Chemical Engineering) won the 'Beyond Cell Academic Award' at the 2023 Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering Fall Conference and International Symposium held at BEXCO in Busan on November 5.

The 'Beyond Cell Academic Award' selects one person each year based on his/her contribution to promoting academic activities in the field of biotechnology and fostering scientific and technological talents. Professor Park, an expert in the industrial bio field, was awarded the ‘Beyond Cell Academic Award’ in recognition of his contribution to the academic development of biotechnology-related fields through various collaborations between industry and university, as well as his achievements in cultural diffusion and fostering scientific and technological talents.

Meanwhile, the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (KSBB) is a representative academic society in the field of biotechnology, with about 10,000 experts in the biotechnology industry as members. Professor Park currently serves as the deputy secretary general and financial director of the society, and he has previously won the New Scholar Award (2012), the Damyeon Academic Award (2014), the BBE Best Editor Award (2020), and the Biotechnology Academic Promotion Award (2019/2020/2021).
