Kwangwoon University Publishes Brochure on Comprehensive College Admissions for Students, Teachers, and Parents
- Ninth Series: 'Discovering Myself on
the Path of My Career' -
- A Guide to Career Exploration and
College Preparation Presented by Career and Education Experts -
This year, Kwangwoon University released
the ninth series of "Comprehensive College Admissions Stories” to help students,
teachers, and parents prepare for college through career exploration.
With the gradual introduction of the
high school credit system, the curriculum has changed, allowing students to
choose their courses based on their career goals and aptitude. Therefore, one
of the biggest concerns of high school students is what their career path is
and what subjects they should choose according to their career path. Now,
first-year students will have to choose their courses from sophomore year. This
is especially true as students’ course selections significantly impact
evaluations in comprehensive college admissions. Teachers and parents also face
challenges guiding students through this subject selection system.
First of all, many changes are
expected to occur in relation to the "2022 Revised Curriculum" and
the full implementation of the high school credit system, so the brochure's
first topic is "The Direction and Issues of the High School Credit System
and Career/Educational Planning" to understand education policy. From a student’s
perspective, high school life is a process of career exploration, so the
brochure provides understanding of the overall picture of high school curriculum
for first-year students and offers methods for discovering one's career
aptitude and interests during class time for second and third-year students.
In addition to classroom instruction, the
brochure covers how to explore careers through subject-related reading
activities and creative activities. In particular, it provides detailed
information on less-known career exploration tools and online information.
