Robot Game Team, RO:BIT won awards at the ‘2023 RoboWorld
exhibition’ and the ‘International
Robot Contest’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan for three days
starting from October 12.
The
RO:BIT Humanoid Team achieved 1st place (Presidential Award) and 3rd place
(Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement Director's Award) in the
intelligent high-tech category of humanoid robot sports at the Seoul
International Robot Contest SRC IRC on October 12. They also won 1st place
(Prime Minister's Award) and 3rd place (Dean's Award of Seoul National
University of Science and Technology) in the intelligent wrestling robot
category, as well as 1st place (Prime Minister's Award) and 2nd place (Korean
Agency for Technology and Standards Director's Award) in the steamcup turtlebot
auto race category held on the 14th.

great opportunity for us to learn various aspects of robotics technology in
preparation for the robotics competition, and I want to express my gratitude to
the team members who worked tirelessly day and night, even in difficult
situations."

Park (Department of Robotics), captain of RO:BIT, expressed his gratitude
saying "The outstanding results of the Kwangwoon University Robot Game
Team were achieved thanks to the full support of the Kwangwoon University
Intelligent Robot Department, which allowed RO:BIT to participate and promote
through a booth display at the first exhibition hall."
Meanwhile,
in the SRC IRC competition, which consisted of three categories, six
sub-competitions, and sixteen events, the intelligent high-tech event in the
humanoid robot sports category won by in which the Kwangwoon University’s Robot Game was a competition in which the robot judges two
missions: obstacle running and basketball
without human control. Intelligent wrestling robot is an event in which robots push opponents out and score
higher points through video-based robot autonomous control. The turtlebot auto
race is a competition that competes in
autonomous driving maps and missions such as passing through obstacles
without a camera through lane recognition navigation technology The Kwangwoon
University’s Robot Game Team, which boasts the best skills
in Korea since its founding, has won excellent awards at over 300 domestic and
international competitions and also achieved outstanding results in various
categories at this competition.
