Kwangwoon
University signed a MOU agreement with VDCOMPANY (CEO Ham Pan-Sik), to promote
the robotics industry and cultivate human resources. The event was attended by
President Kim Jongheon and CEO Ham Pan-sik (VD Company), signing the MOU and
demonstrating the donated robot.
The
robots donated by VDCOMPANY are the representative serving robot, 'Puduot,'
premium serving robot, 'Bellabot,' small store serving robot and guide robot,
'Ketibot.' Pudubot and Bellabot will be used for research by faculty members of
the robotics department, while Ketibot will be used for promotion of Kwangwoon
University. In particular, Ketibot will be used to introduce the university and
make announcements on campus after program improvement and development with the Robotics Department and the Robotics
Game Team (RO:BIT) and the Software Club (Baram).
President
JongHeon Kim said, "There have been constraints in terms of technology and
cost in robot research and on campus services using robots. However, we expect
that VDCOMPANY's donation and collaboration will greatly help research and
education in the robotics industry at Kwangwoon University."
CEO Ham
Pan-Sik said, "Through the exchange of VDCOMPANY's accumulated experience
and Kwangwoon University's excellent human resources, we expect to create great
synergy for the development of the domestic service robot industry. We will
support to create an environment for industry-academia-type talent growth and
work to revitalize the service robot industry."
Meanwhile,
VDCOMPANY, has maintained its position as the number one supplier of domestic
serving robots to date, and is positioning itself as a leading company in digital
transformation centered around AI and robotics since its establishment in 2019.
Kwangwoon University, through this agreement, will support research activities
for autonomous driving robots and research necessary for the installation,
control, and commercialization of robots.
