Student Ji-hoon Park (Department of Robotics) Receives the Minister of Labor Award at the 10th Siemens Digital CNC Competition

Park Ji-hoon, student of the Department of Robotics received the Minister of Labor Award at the 10th Siemens Digital CNC Competition held at the Siemens Digital Enterprise Experience Center (KDEXc) on September 7, 2023.

The Siemens Digital CNC Competition, held on an online virtual platform, focuses on machine programming using the digital twin-based NC program "SINUTRAIN" for machine tools. Ji-hoon Park won the top prize among a total of 1,006 participating students for his ability to recognize the importance of self-programed products throughout the design process.

Ji-hoon Park is actively engaged in both internal and external activities as the leader of Kwangwoon University's Robot Game Team (RO:BIT). He said, “I am honored to have won the Siemens Digital CNC Competition, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, by demonstrating my knowledge of machines and programming. I would like to continue to contribute to leading the technology of future society through research in related fields.”

Since its inaugural event in 2014, the Siemens Digital CNC Competition has grown in both quantity and quality, with an increase in participation not only from technical colleges but also from non-technical colleges in general universities and new editions this year  include a programming multiple-choice test which determine material processing with machine tools and creative drawings.
