The research team, led by Professor Kim
Nam-young of the Department of Electronic Engineering, said the team succeeded
in developing ultra-sensitive probeless capacity biosensors for the detection
of amyloid beta (Aβ1-42) in plasma, a biomarker of dementia, along with
Prashant Kumar Sharma (1st author).

The research was supported by the Ministry of
Education's support project for the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF)
and the basic science research program through the Graduate School of the
Ministry of Environment (MOE). The research results were published under the
title of “Ultrasensitive probeless capacitive
biosensor for amyloid beta (Aβ1-42) detection in human
plasma using interdigitated electrodes” in Biosensors and Bioelectronics
(IF=12.545), an internationally renowned journal published by Elsevier.
