2023 Kwangwoon University Entrance Ceremony
The entrance ceremony for the 2023 school year was held on February 20, 2022 (Mon) at 13:00. The event was held face-to-face for the first time in four years in a situation where COVID-19 quarantine was eased.

The entrance ceremony was
held with a opening speech, a national rite, a academic report, a freshman
oath, a speech by President Kim Jong-heon, and a welcoming speech by President
Cho Kwang-sik. The freshman oath was conducted by Yoo Min-sang, representative
of freshmen (Department of Electronic Engineering, Class of 23) and student Eunwoo
Hong (Department of Media Communication, Class of 23).

President Kim Jong-heon said, "Our lives are rapidly changing day by day in a new and complex era in which artificial intelligence and intelligent robots, created with innovative technologies such as 'hyper-connection', 'super-intelligence', and 'super-convergence', have appeared." He said, "I hope you will devote yourself to your studies so that you can be reborn as a competent person with the convergence and complex thinking and problem-solving ability required by the new era."
Cho Kwang-sik, president of the Alumni Association, encouraged the freshmen by saying, “Kwangwoon University is a great teacher who taught them the wisdom of learning and life, and the many professors and alumni seniors and juniors I met during my school days are still mentors for life.” He welcomed the new students by saying, “Prepare wisely through strong will with the pride of Kwangwoon University.”
Meanwhile, there are 1,905 new undergraduate students admitted to the school, and the first semester of 2023 will start on March 2nd (Thursday).
