Signed an MOU
Kwangwoon
University's AI Convergence Research Center announced that it had signed a
memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanwha Systems Basic Technology Research
Institute for "research cooperation and talent development in the field of
defense AI convergence technology."
Accordingly, Kwangwoon University and Hanwha
Systems jointly research defense AI technologies, such as reinforcement
learning-based battlefield object behavior prediction technology and
knowledge-based policy automatic creation technology according to changes in
battlefield conditions. They plan to carry out technical cooperation with
industry, academia, and research institutes for the development of artificial
intelligence convergence education curriculum.
Hanwha Systems will provide AI platform
solutions and AI research for the next five years. Kwangwoon University plans
to utilize Hanwha Systems' AI platform and solutions for research and
collaborate in fostering professional talent.
Lee Hyuk-joon, Kwangwoon University AI Convergence Research Center, said, "Through this MOU, we intend to secure the nation's highest level of research and education capabilities in the field of defense AI by establishing a solid industry-university cooperation network and a system for fostering excellent practical talent. We plan to conduct research and focus on nurturing talented people in related technologies.”
Yoon Yeo-seon, Hanwha Systems Basic Technology Research Institute, said, “We are securing excellent talents who have accumulated practical experience in research and technology development in the field of defense AI. We expect it to be a good opportunity to lay a stable foundation for securing advanced AI convergence technology.”
