Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru with Seoul Psychological Support Northeast Center
“Psychological Education, our Liberation Notes
for Mental Health”
- Lectures about mindfulness & positive psychology for young people in single-person households in Seoul -
Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru (Director Hyejin
Kwon), commissioned by Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Cooperation
Foundation (Director Cheol-hwan Park), had a psychological education program
for young single-person households living in Gangbuk-gu and Seoul in
collaboration with the Seoul Psychological Support Northeast Center.
This psychological education program, in
collaboration between Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru and the Seoul Psychological
Support Northeast Center, is designed to educate and practice meditation,
mindfulness, and positive psychology so that people living alone could clear
their minds and achieve happiness and mental growth. Total of two lectures were
given.
The lecture on October 25 (1st session) was
held under the theme of "Freedom from thoughts", and the lecture on
November 1 (2nd session) was held under the theme of "Freedom to be Happy
Now".
“It was difficult to find time to focus on body and mind in daily
life,” said the young man who attended both lectures, “but thanks to these
lectures, I was able to set aside time to be mindful and learn how to meditate,
mindfulness, and positive psychology.” He also expressed his gratitude for the
program planning and operation.
Kwon
Hye-jin, head of the center, said, “Through our center, we will plan and
provide various programs so that young people in Gangbuk-gu and Seoul can take
care of their mental health.”
Lastly, Park Cheol-hwan, the head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, said, "I hope that many young people who participated in the program will get peace of mind and vitality of life through this program."
