Held the "Promising Startup DemoDay"
On
October 5th Kwangwoon University, Mirae Asset Securities and Korea Economic Broadcasting
held "Promising Startup DemoDay" to support the growth of innovative
technology startups. The event was at Mirae Asset Center One's Innovation Hal.
Many
executives and employees of about 30 companies attended the event. Among them
there were Chosun Young (Chairman of Kwangwoon Academy), Kim Jong-heon (President
of Kwangwoon University), Choi Hyun-man (Chairman of Mirae Asset Securities),
Kang Sung-beom, and Venture Capital for Investment and institutional investors.
The
startups that participated in the DemoDay: OMotion (CEO Oh Moon-seok,
Metahuman), Genius (CEO Tae-hyung Lee, Smart Cube), Gritci IC (CEO Jeong
Seung-hwan, non-contact biosignal detection GRU sensor), and Hi-Local (CEO Yoon
Jeong-ho, AI-based global language exchange)) and other 4th industrial
revolution innovative technology-based startups. The above startups were
introduced through Korea Economy Broadcasting Innovation Growth Korea as
resident companies on the Kwangwoon University Startup Platform (Kwangwoon
Startup Support Center, Seoul Startup Stepper, Guri Youth Startup Support
Center, etc.).
Chosun-young,
president of Kwangwoon Academy, said, “The founder (Dr. Cho Kwang-woon) also
felt the need for technical education, so he established Kwangwoon. I hope that
we will learn a lot during the DemoDay, where technology, capital, and new
ideas are all in one place.”
President
Kim Jong-heon of Kwangwoon University said, “Kwangwoon University is leading
the innovative technology for the 4th industrial revolution as a university
that fosters ICT-specialized creative talents that have produced Lee
Young-hyun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, and former Samsung Electronics Vice
Chairman Shin Jong-gyun. Based on the nation’s top-notch startup
infrastructure, we will provide a variety of opportunities for challenges and
growth through the best incubating program to more than 100 startups per year.”
Chairman Choi Hyun-man of Mirae Asset Securities said, “As Mirae Asset started
out as a venture, I hope that ventures within the university will grow even
more. It is considered a meaningful position as the university directly
nurtures and supports the manpower who develops technology like Spark Labs”.
Starting with this event, Kwangwoon University, Mirae Asset Securities, and Korea Economic Broadcasting will continue to provide infrastructure for startup founders and support programs for investment connection such as venture capital.
