"1st Meolli Gaji Maru"

Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru (Central Director Hyejin Kwon) is commissioned by Kwangwoon University Industry-University Cooperation Foundation (Director Park Chul-hwan). After two days on the 16th and 17th, the 2022 Korea Youth Day festival 'The 1st Far Gajimaru' program was completed with flying colors. 

Youth Day celebrated its third anniversary since the enactment of the Basic Youth Act in 2020 as a legal anniversary (the third Saturday in September).

This event, which was held under the name of "Meolli Gaji Maru", was the first time when the promotional items of the center designed and made by young people in Gangbuk-gu were presented to visitors. ▲ Archiving Photo Exhibition (Buku Photo Exhibition) was held with photos taken by Gangbuk youths traveling around Gangbuk-gu.

Also, the studio room could be rented free of charge by prior reservation.▲The black and white photo studio (Marunecut) and large education room. ▲ The space in the center was actively promoted by screening youth films (Maru Cinema).

On the first floor: ▲ A resident company PR booth was operated to promote the products of companies resident in the center and sell them at a discounted price. In the evening, everyone ate chicken together. ▲ Performances such as magic, mime, and juggling, and the folding door on the first floor was wide open so that residents passing by the center could also participate. 

At this festival, in which about 100 Gangbuk-gu youths participated, and left a message of support to each other and saying, “I am very happy to participate in an event like this in Gangbuk-gu, and I am looking forward to the future programs of the center”. 

Mayor Lee Soon-zee, who visited for encouragement that day, also enjoyed the festival with the youth and cheered them on.

Kwon Hye-jin, head of the center, said, “The 2nd Faraway Maru will be held next year as well. Apart from awarding commendations, we will prepare more abundant entertainment, leaving the worries of young people in Gangbuk-gu aside. We will work hard to fully enjoy Youth Day.”

Park Cheol-hwan, director of Kwangwoon University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, said, "I enjoyed the various programs without realizing the passage of time. I hope that many young people can enjoy the happiness of their youth through this festival.”
