Kwangwoon University’s Software Convergence
College students achieved excellent results in the
A total of 210 students (42 teams) from 32
software-focused universities participated and competed in the face-to-face
online competition. The main theme of the competition was "Software - the Driving Force of Digital Transformation". It was held
over three days starting June 22. The participants had to create a project
management method that directly implements applications, services, libraries,
etc. Teams of 5 people were formed, and they worked together for 3 days. The
total prize pool was 10 million won. The team that wins the grand prize is
awarded the Minister of Science and ICT Prize and 3 million won in prize money.
Kwangwoon University students participated in
this year's competition and received:
Grand Prize (Kim Youngwoo, School of Computer
and Information Engineering: “Kiosk for the Digitally Underprivileged”),
Excellence Award (Yoon Yeojun, School of
Software: “Anonymous MBTI Community Platform”),
Sponsoring Company Award (Jo Hayeon, School of
Information Convergence: “Location-based drug inventory check and ingredient
guideline provision service”, and Park Seonyeong, School of Software: “A
platform to find passengers”).
A total of four people were awarded.
Young-Woo Kim (17th Department of Computer and
Information Engineering), leader of the "Age-Free" team that won the
grand prize in this competition, said at the awards ceremony held at the Seoul
Creative Economy Innovation Center on 28 (Tuesday). “It was an idea that I
could not have done on my own, but it was great to bring it to life with the
team members in this hackathon. It is a pity that I could not participate in
various activities, because I was immersed in development day and night for
three days. It was my first time participating in the competition and all the
developers and designers were talented, so it was easy to communicate and
collaborate. It was an opportunity for me to grow as a developer,” he said in
his acceptance speech.
