Kwangwoon
University (President Yoo Jisang) was selected as the “2021 International Youth
Leader Exchange Support Project”.
This
project, hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and supervised by
the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency, is a program designed to support
exchange activities among multinational college students. It is aimed at
strengthening youth capacity as a global democratic citizen by supporting
mutual exchanges between Korean and multinational youths based on a domestic
university base, enhancing understanding of mutual cultures, and promoting
friendship.
Kwangwoon
University has formed a consortium with the Municipal Gangbuk Youth Center, and
from September 2021, a total of 60 Korean university students and foreign
students will conduct various activities under the theme of 'Action Plan for a
Better Daily Life: Better than Today'. In addition, it aims to share
multinational cultures and grow green leadership through various exchange
activities related to the sustainable development goal (environmental issues),
which is a global issue.
In
particular, through 1:1 mentoring between Korean university students and
foreign students, it is expected to provide opportunities for continuous
cultural exchange in daily life and to improve practical adaptability to study
abroad.
“Kwangwoon University will continue to provide opportunities for international students to adapt to Korean culture and support a variety of programs that enhance communication,” said Yoo Jisang, who is in charge of the project.
